Amazing Adventure Race 3 – South
Sydney
(Will be edited as more photos come in!)
The race consisted of 41 locations,
where teams have to complete tasks, and 15 scavenger hunt items. As
it is impossible to complete even half of the location tasks in the
6-hour time period, teams selected which tasks they want to do
to maximise their score/fun/both.
This was our largest Amazing Adventure
Race, with 14 teams taking part (bigger than the actual Amazing Race!)
 |
Ready to go! |
The location tasks were spread out into
six areas, all a fair distance apart.
For each area, you will find below the
tasks, how many teams completed them, and some photos of teams taking
part!

Scavenger Hunt items
Throughout the course of the race, teams could also collect points by finding a scavenger item. They received 12 points for the first time they found each of the following:
- 2 cats outdoors (in the same photo)
- 4 dogs outdoors (in the same photo)
- L&P (a NZ soft drink)
- Cement truck
- Ride-on lawn mower
- A living human being wearing a St George Rugby League jersey
- 25kph speed limit sign (enforced or suggested speed)
- Two organised teams playing baseball/softball/tee-ball
- Bus route that is a prime number (if uncertain if number is prime, see Anton)
- A Lonely Planet guide to a single country that no person in the entire Race has been to.
- A size 14 bowling ball
- Lantana
- A wedding cake
- A sausage sizzle
- A sign with a grammatical error
 |
Food and scavenger hunt item combined! |
 |
Finding two cats (and cute ones) outside on a hot day was an impressive effort! |
Finding the scavenger hunt items proved tough on a reasonably hot day, with teams finding between two and eight of them!
The worthy winners were Jay & Jon, who covered a tremendous distance, and fully deserve the best $9 trophy that money can buy!
 |
Well done to Jon and Jay! |
